I, for one, am relieved. Another pod there would just be in the way, there’s a spare retail unit on the Northern Concourse (can’t remember who was there) if you want a Greggs.

Greggs is foreign muck. Never had em in Leeds until they came in taking over proper Yorkshire bakers like Thurston's
What I found interesting was the number of people who still presented cards and tickets up to the gates. Must all be Londoners, used to tapping out with Oyster cards
It is the same situation at York. Perhaps Greggs are not willing to pay the rents but Pret are.
Perhaps it's because there's already a Greggs on Boar Lane at the end of New Station St.
Maybe, but equally there's at least 3 other Greggs in the city centre within 5 mins minutes walk away from that branch. I suspect @greyman42's explanation that they don't want to pay the rents rather the proximity of other branches that is the blocker. After all a Greggs on the concourse would get a lot of footfall that the others would not.

You'd have to know it was there though. Mot people will just mooch around the station itself.
They had enough probelms with BK blocking the vents! It's a pity the area is so... sanitized now. And car-free. Could you imagine a burger van on City Square, doing bacon rolls for the morning commuters? Where I live there used to be a coffee car(t) first thing for office workers - they seem to have been Covid victims too.

Disagree - we should have the choice. I nip into Leon once in a while for a hotbox, I go to Pret, I'd have a fry-up if there was one handy. Just depends on my mood (and stomach). After we opened Kirkstall Forge Station we came back to Leeds and had a Full English at 'Spoons!
There used to be a "greasy spoon" across from the Scarborough Arms, down the now-closed steps. Is that no longer there?
Yuppie outlets? Is it 1987 again? These eating/drinking establishments are now the norm everywhere. Not places you only find in the City of London 35+ years ago.
