Leeds-Cambridge suggested splits?

Hello everyone,

I'm struggling to find 2 adult return tickets from Leeds to Cambridge, outward on 12th/13th/14th April and back around 18th/19th April at a reasonable price.

I've tried splitting in Peterborough, Stevenage or Ely, and it gets me a more expensive ticket. Does anyone more skilled at this than I am have any alternative suggested split points, or other ideas?

If I can't find a cheap-ish ticket, my elderly dad will DRIVE my sister to Cambridge, and if you've ever seen him on a motorway you'll know that's not a good idea!!!

Advances are probably going to be your best bet but I think you can split at Retford (and obviously your train will have to call).
