Leaking pantograph wells on class 345 units

It appears that, under the rain, streams of water are trickling down the pantograph wells into the interior of at least one Elizabeth line train.

There is no risk of electrocution, as although the stream is a bit conductive (being full of ions because it’s London) there is unlikely to ever be a continuous path to the overhead wires, or indeed anything at 25kV relative to ground. Any charge the rainwater collects will discharge prior to trickling down the roof.

Having said that, this is not an ideal situation. Has this been observed before on similar units?

Usually the drain Wells that route towards the front and rear of the train are very good at dealing with Waterload. Wonder why thats occurred. Definitely sure its not coming from the ac unit like that of the pendolinos, at times?

The body work of the train will be connected to ground, the same body work the water is passing through, so the risk of electrocution is zero.

Units have been pulled before with water leaking into the driving cab. It's certainly a known issue. This however seems particularly faulty and is a considerable safety risk. I imagine it wouldn't have remained in service long or needed a good mop at terminus!

I expect something in this state with an active leak still in sight to be pulled at the end of the journey, if not end of current circuit back to the main terminus.

Has happened in the past on GA 720s especially on some of the earlier units where the build quality appears not so good.

It will be a few seals have come away. Seen that occur on a 710.
