Law & Order episode last night

Was watching an episode of Law & Order last night. Someone had driven onto a railway line attempting suicide; some 15 were killed in the resulting crash. But there was no involvement (or mention) of the British Transport Police.

I'd have thought they'd be involved quite extensively in such a case.
