I'm not sure if there has been a thread on this before but if so it could probably do with updating.

Where are the star loos on the UK Rail Network - which Railway Stations offer the finest pee or dump possibilities.

And where are the stinkers either literally due to the odour or crap (no pun)
facilities.

Additionally are there any Railway Stations that provide no WC's that could reasonably expected to do so

The ones at Glasgow Central have always been fairly decent for the size of the station when I have been there. Sadly I think toilets at stations tend to go from average downwards rather than upwards.

The worst I have come across have to be Bolton (not sure if they are bad still after the station upgrade) and the ones at Euston that smell vile all the time.

I would have thought the facilities at The Eurostar St Pancras would have been good as they are fairly new ?

Very overcrowded on the domestic station at St P, and harldy great when compared to London Charing Cross or Glasgow Ctl!

There was a time of course when virtually every staffed station had a loo. Even my local one had full facilities. Not sure when the big loo-closure programme happened - around Beeching's time?

Brighton station has some clean bogs, though they'd better be for the price of admission.

The pay loos at Leeds are always annoying because you pay 30p and usually have to stand around waiting because there are only 3 cubicles !.

The ones at Stalybridge are nice though.

Whats the rationale of charging for station loos - they don't do it at any airports as far as I am aware

Good point. The ones on the platform are free but they're not cleaned as regularly.

That must surely go down as a huge blunder in the planning of the new St Pancras. There are always huge queues when we have been there, especially the ones near the eurostar terminal entrance.

It maybe because most of the time we are there it's a Saturday or Sunday. I have had to wait a short while myself a couple of times while my wife has just no dealed the toilets due to the crazy length queue for the womens.

Hint: The disabled one by that queue ( on the right hand side ) doesn't need an NKS key to get into; anyone may use it. Most of the queue don't realise this until someone just walks up and goes into it...

Hunt's Cross has a curiosity - a disabled key loo on a platform that's not wheelchair accessible from the station entrance. You could use it if you've arrived by train on platform 2/3.

ok here goes... The good, Waverley, Aberdeen or inverness, all quite new and supervised. The bad, haymarket, glasgow qs, euston, london Victoria, carlisle. The avoid at all costs, preston, newstreet, preston bus station, crewe

They've been done up recently, they're actually usable now.

Worst toilets I've ever encountered were/are Manchester Victoria. The ones at Chester aren't much cop either, they're pretty much outside so on a freezing November night it's not pleasant.

The worst ones I can remeber were the ones in the subway at Leeds station - they stank as you walked past to the other platforms, I can still remember that awful stench.

The ones at Sheffield on the island platform - probably the worst. Had to hand some bog roll to the person in the next cubicle as it had run out. Ones on the main concourse are quite nice.

East Coast generally have decent enough toilets (apart from the night toilet at Newcastle which is normally flooded with pee after 22.00).

I've been to some of the NR stations where I've had to pay 20-30p to go, and sometimes these can be just as bad even though they are staffed.

I was looking for them at Stratford a few weeks back. The ones under the stairs on the concourse had a note on them saying due to their misuse, there was now a charge for using them.
