I've finally been moved to stop lurking and start posting. Does anyone know why the 2220 service from ECR to UCK has disappeared from NRE journey planner for this week? I am aware that there is an overnight engineering possession and that the 2320 is running to OXT, following which replacement bus services run to EGR and UCK, but the 2220 service has completely disappeared. Surely journey planner should make some reference to it, if only to say that it has been replaced by a bus service or even that it has been cancelled...?

The service only runs as far as Oxted, but there is no connecting bus to Uckfield. Perhaps they assume there are so few passengers that they can all wait for the next one an hour later, or they have forgotten to put in a bus to connect with that train, or they just aren't that bothered! With Southern it could be a bit of all three.

I’m pretty sure (99.9%!) there either will be a bus booked, or should be... there usually is, in this scenario. The 2204 from London Bridge (1E71) is, of course, usually booked to be the last all-stations service towards Uckfield, so Hever, Cowden and Ashurst need to be served somehow. There is also no sense making people wait an extra hour, especially as you can usually fill a bus completely at least as far as Edenbridge Town, even on Monday and Tuesday nights, plus serve all the other stations. Later in the week, this service and the 2304 (1E73) tend to be much busier, so there’ll be mayhem if there’s no replacement, not to mention poor PR.

If there is no bus booked, Control will have it brought to their attention soon enough...

Maybe NR have forgotten to publish it. Southern's website suggest a bus is provided.

I was on the 21:04 tonight, decided not to try the bus, and I am sure there was a bus replacement from Oxted on the 22:04. I wonder if the OP has direct services only ticked on his app? For some stupid reason if you have to change to a bus it doesnt show as its no longer a direct service on the Southern app. I complained about that to Southern recently.

When I got to Crowborough on the 21.04 there were 2 replacement buses there not sure what they were doing.

Incidentally doesnt appear to have been a great evening with the 18:06 cancelled and I think the 20.04 was also cancelled.

Apparently someone forgot to book the bus. It was then booked, a while ago, but not input in all systems correctly.

(When it all got fixed, it should have then shown up regardless of “direct services only” settings, as the bus was eventually intrinsically linked with the train schedule.)

The buses at Crowborough were to do with a previous cancellation, but I’d have no exact idea why they’d be loitering at Crowborough when the next train arrived.

Various services were cancelled due to a door fault on the units on the diagram which makes the 1806 off London Bridge, and a badly smashed window on 171401 which was due to work the 2004 off London Bridge.

Many thanks to everyone for the advice. The 2220 service from ECR has now been reinstated into NRE journey planner fro this week, with a replacement bus service to all stations south of OXT.

The 2204 LBG departure was on RealTimeTrains as terminating at Oxted, and was advertised as such at London Bridge. However at Sanderstead the information systems showed it as going all the way to Uckfield.
