Late finishing engineering work

Twice now overrunning engineering works has caused problems on the District line. What’s causing this? Why can’t TfL sort themselves out?

Have you ever done DIY where you find unexpected complications which require additional time and resources to sort out? Guess what......

This morning was a late finish to re-railing work between East Ham and Upney, requiring suspension West Ham-Dagenham East AND a late start to the planned work between Earl’s Court and Wimbledon as the engineering trains were still accessing the site at 0500, traction current had to be off in the Earl’s Court area and with buffer zones to Acton Town, Gunnersbury, Notting Hill Gate, Victoria nothing could run
