Last question on ALR

I intend to use an All Line Rover in the next three months. Will this ticket be increased in price in March? Also if I purchase early can I avoid the price increase?
Oh, I just thought of another question... The last one I bought (September last year) was bought from a Northern guard so that the 5% commission would go to someone working on the rails. sadly this was a thermal printed ticket that lost all its ink in the first nine days of use. Can I buy an ALR on card stock?

Yes if you find a TOC whose ticket offices or on-board ticket machines issue CCST. Or, I think you can order them for ToD collection at a TVM from the GWR website.

If you want commission to go to someone, you could buy off a conductor for a TOC whose on-board ticket machines issue CCST!

Yes at a ticket office.
If you are North West based (based off the fact that you purchased the last one off a Northern guard) there isn't any left that issue on CCST, Avanti was the last.

Yes I would always prefer the commission to go to a rail worker but my last ticket was not resilient enough on a "toilet paper" ticket. It looks like the GWR website is the way to go.

I suppose I could scan my ticket and keep a copy on my phone as I did last time which was accepted without problems. The guards deserve a boost in wages!

East Midlands Railway still issue on proper tickets, available on the Liverpool-Warrington-Manchester/Stockport corridor, as well as around Crewe.

I suspect West Midlands Trains also do out of Liverpool/Runcorn/Crewe.

I think these are actually posted - I probably wouldn’t want to rely on this option in the current climate.
I’d second the suggestion of buying them at the ticket office.
