I always thought it was Taff Ely (aka Pontypridd Corpy) UTG313G (now preserved but some say it may have been Douglas Corpy on the IOM. They were Regent V with Willowbrook bodies.
IIRC, Pontypridd were also the last recipients of vehicles with Longwell Green bodywork.

The Taff's Ely one was the last Regent V MD2 to enter service in 3/69 but the highest chassis number belonged to Garelochhead Coach Services MSN 863G with Northern Counties bodywork, fleet no. 78 which entered service 11/68.
The last Douglas Corporation one, 410 LMN, was a Regent V D2 with Willowbrook body which entered service in 12/68.
Someone with more knowledge of AEC will know the order they left the factory prior to bodybuilding to know exactly which one qualifies as the last chassis
I believe that 410 LMN was the last Regent V chassis constructed . . . given that MSN 893G had a higher chassis number perhaps 410 LMN took longer to be completed?
410LMN is certainly the very last one on the list of the D2 chassis, according to BLOTW (buslistsontheweb.co.uk).
Code:
3D2RA2024 Rt V 410LMN Wk CF1616/67834 H37/27F 12/1968 Douglas (IM) 15
This is backed up by Alan Townsin in his book "Blue Triangle", which also confirms that the Garelochhead example was the last of the "medium weight" Regents.
