Never knew Rutherglen had that many platforms; every day is a school day! Here is a additonal view of the station dating from September 1960 looking west towards Polmadie/Glasgow Central with a 'up' express headed by 8P Coranation 4-6-2 No. 46229 Duchess of Hamilton.

The latter image decipts a view that is now substantially altered, just short of obliterated, with the M74 Extension being built right over the remaining operational part of Rutherglen. Kinda sad in a way, but guess one should be grateful it survived in some form or another to become part of the present-day Argyle Line network.
