Large, stations you have been through non-stop

Been through Rochdale and various other Calder Valley stations on diversions which I think don't have scheduled passing trains normally. Also, been through Castleford non-stop several times on scheduled TPE services and passed through Wakefield Kirkgate and Westgate non-stop on the same run a couple of times on a diverted Sheffield - Leeds stopper. Been diverted through Bat & Ball a couple of times as well which I don't think is supposed to have fast trains.

Oops, forgot it said "large" stations. Still, Rochdale and the Wakefields are big enough I suppose.

I have been through Gloucester non-stop on an HST. It was on a Paddington to Swansea service, but the Severn tunnel was closed, so we had to go via Kemble (non-stop), Gloucester (non-stop) and along the Gloucester to Newport line.

Manchester Victoria?

2nd July about 4 years ago (could be wrong, the 185s were just being introduced) there was a lightning strike which knocked out signalling between leeds and manchester on TPE services meaning we were booted off the train at leeds, eventually put on a coach to Huddersfield (about three hours after getting off at leeds) and then Huddersfield to Salford running non-stop through Vic so that we could then reverse down to Picadilly where taxis were provided after about another 2 hours :/ not TPE's finest hour.

Shame one cannot include railtours, as I'd be able to include quite a lot more. Nevertheless, from memory here's my list of large (and not quite as large) stations I've gone RA through:

Manchester Piccadilly
Stockport
Macclesfield
Crewe
Reading (when Hereford to Paddington HSTs used to go RA Oxford to Paddington)
Swindon (1715 or 1815 from Paddington used to be RA Reading to Bristol Parkway) a few times on diversions as well as the example bracketed.
Bristol Parkway on diverted HSTs and at least once on an XC working that was booked to be RA Birmingham to Bristol
Cheltenham Spa (on the same XC working as above)
Gloucester (more times than I care to remember years ago on diverted Swansea to Paddington and vice-versa HSTs)
Oxford, on a MudEx HST which was RA Reading to Leamington Spa
Banbury, on the same as the above
Bristol Temple Meads on diverted West of England HSTs twice, and on the Up Through road
Exeter St Davids (on the summer XC working listed above)
Sunderland on NXEC diverts twice (once in each direction)
Manchester Victoria on overnight TPX services at least three times

Plenty of others but none of them overly big I guess.

Summer Saturdays VTs 10.06 Paignton-Newcastle hired in GNER HST used to run fast Torquay-Bristol TM which was very unusual not to stop at Exeter St Davids.

I seem to recall doing several stations on the Bedford-Bletchley line without stopping several years ago. I forget the reason, but the guard went down the train checking where people wanted to get off, and we only stopped at those stations.
I've also done Perth non-stop a couple of times when the Dundee-Edinburgh line has been closed for engineering works.

When you think about it, there's very few left, well on IC at least: Coventry, Bhm Intl, Wolves, Carlisle, Reading, Colchester, York from May, Peterborough, Haymarket, all have non-stop trains through.

Now, there's an interesting service through Picc, I'll see if I can find it

EDIT - No I can't: there was one early morning TPE from the Airport that went non-stop through Picc, went on to Bolton, Preston etc or Liverpool methinks

So how many can you have?

Plymouth, Temple Meads, Leeds, York, Man Picc, Man Vic, Waverley, some local lines and anything that is a terminus (I met someone who had been non-stop through Thurso once).

Looks like all I have left is Preston. I did York and Leeds once, but that was a railtour. Serves me right for not reading right through the thread. :roll:
