Lancaster platform extensions

The final completion of the works to allow 11-car class 390 Pendolino trains has now been completed.

Platform 3 (Down Passenger Loop) has been extended by 8 metres at the north end and Platform 4 (Up Passenger Loop No. 1) has been extended by 22 metres at the south end).

The operating length of both platforms is now 254 metres.

When did the work start?!! I was there about 4 months ago, and didnt see any sign of anything happening! Unless i was just blind.

It could be a false memory but I'm sure there was construction going on there while there was snow on the ground earlier this year.
