I am currently looking into the never-built sections/branch lines of the LD&ECR. Unfortunately, there is very few detailed information about them available online and the (apparently excellent) book from Zoe Hunter about the subject is unavailable to me.
Does anybody have any information about the planned stations? I know that the Chesterfield - Buxton section had stations planned at Upper Newbold (for Cutthorpe), Calver, Great Longstone & Hassop, Blackwell and Buxton. But what about the Buxton - Warrington and Lincoln - Sutton-on-Sea sections and the branch lines Macclesfield - Cheadle and Ollerton - Newark?
Any help would be much appreciated!

Looks like she's the expert and you need both of her books.......
strange that she seems to have published parts 1&4, not 2&3

Is an inter library loan an option? (ask at your local library about them) - obv no good if you are not in the UK I guess.

I've always understood that so long as a book has an ISBN such a loan can be achieved, tho i may be out of date on that!

eg you might expect Chesterfield library to have one which would then get sourced via the inter library loan system

C Awdry's "Encyclopaedia of British Railway Companies" says that the only section built was from Chesterfield to Lincoln opened in March 1897, and a branch to Beighton opened in May 1900. It was taken over by the Great Central at the start of 1907. The Western part of the line was not built and was formally abandoned in 1895. He says nothing about the Eastern section.

I have the two volumes published so far (1 and 4 as stated earlier)

I bought them both direct from Zoe although the remaining number of copies is very low
I am happy to list the proposed stations for the OP over the next few days.

I could find out how many copies are still available direct from Zoe if you wish ?

George Dow's History of the Great Central Railway gives some details, but does not list all the proposed stations.

The western section would have started at Warrington, at a deep water dock on the Manchester Ship Canal. It would have run via Knutsford, Macclesfield, Buxton (with its own station near the town hall), then Baslow to Chesterfield Market Place. There wold have been a branch from Prestbury to Cheadle Hulme, Cheadle & Heaton Mersey. There would have been connections to the CLC at Knutsford, and to the North Staffs Railway at Macclesfield; a proposed viaduct at Monsal Dale would have been 300 feet high.....

At the eastern end, it would have run from Lincoln - possibly involving a tunnel, and with a new station on the eastern side of the city - via Alford to Mumby Road, with running powers over the GNR to Sutton On Sea, where a new dock was to be built.

Thanks to everybody for the help!
@ soccermad: That listing would be much appreciated! Take your time, I'm in no hurry ;) Thanks for offering to inquire about the books but with your listing there is no urgent need for me to acquire them.
