There was an old thread on here asking where the Liverpool and Manchester Railway's 0-4-2 Lion of 1838 had got to.
It's here: in the Museum of Liverpool at the Pier Head.
It is displayed along with much Liverpool transport memorabilia, including an Overhead Railway coach.

It is of course a fine exhibit, but I can't help feeling it is too "hemmed in", and you don't get the opportunity to see it at a decent perspective, or in its proper railway setting, as you would at the NRM.
Light levels are also very low for photography!
Pity it will not steam again, but it's good to see it on display.

Wasnt the boiler used for a pumping engine for many years?
