There was an old thread on here asking where the Liverpool and Manchester Railway's 0-4-2 Lion of 1838 had got to.
It's here: in the Museum of Liverpool at the Pier Head.
It is displayed along with much Liverpool transport memorabilia, including an Overhead Railway coach.

It is of course a fine exhibit, but I can't help feeling it is too "hemmed in", and you don't get the opportunity to see it at a decent perspective, or in its proper railway setting, as you would at the NRM.
Light levels are also very low for photography!
Pity it will not steam again, but it's good to see it on display.

Yes, at Princes Dock.
It was rescued in 1928 and restored for the L&MR centenary in 1930.
There are pictures of it in use as a pumping engine in the Museum display.

Ah The Titfield Thunderbolt.

It actually went Mainline on the Manchester - Southport line in the 80s
