The Ffestiniog Railway's recently completed L&B replica 'Lyd' will be visiting the Launceston Steam Railway later this month. This visit is in recognition of the loyal support of the 'Lyd project' from inception to completion by the LSR team.
Following unloading on Wednesday 15th, it is intended Lyd will complete a trial run on Thursday 16th.
Providing this trial run is satisfactory, it is anticipated that Lyd will haul some public trains on Thursday 16th and Friday 17th. Lyd will then haul all public trains on Sunday 19th.
All LSR trains hauled by Lyd will be top and tailed with a resident Quarry Hunslet.
It is intended that trains will run to the normal hourly timetable - however if there is sufficient demand on the day trains will run to a more intensive timetable.
No pre-booking required and no additional charge to ride behind Lyd. Come along and ride behind a replica Southern loco on Southern territory for the first time.
