Kyle to Dingwall seating advice

I'm taking the West Highland Line from Kyle to Dingwall and wondering if there was a preferable side to sit. From my limited memories of the line I am thinking on the left hand side in the direction of travel?

Definitely the left hand side when departing Kyle - did this journey myself on Saturday. The coastal views leaving Kyle are absolutely stunning.

After you've passed Strathcarron the lineside vegetation and trees are quite heavily overgrown so for quite a stretch you get nothing but leaves and branches.

Also, FYI, First Class is declassified on this route so grab a seat early if you want the use of a socket (one end will have a yellow 1 on the door and yellow stripe below the window denoting where it is). WiFi signal is pretty good and reliable through about 90% of the journey as well.

I also think that the left hand side of the train when leaving Kyle is the best

Keep your eyes peeled for the wildlife too.
I've only ever seen a golden eagle in the wild once and that was from the train near Achanalt. I was window hanging and the eagle was sat on a post at the side of the track. It took flight as the 37 approached and I watched it fly away across the moor.
Made my day.

Ha, yes not the West Highland.
Does anyone know if coach A or B tends to be the lead coach from Kyle? Or is it random?
