Hail All!
Well...My question foxed 'em up nicely and they wern't able to answer it! Here's the log!

Incidentally - Going on what's used in the APT - The answer is surprisingly easy, I believe...

Well...My question foxed 'em up nicely and they wern't able to answer it! Here's the log!
- Q: How many metres of wire - In total - Are used within all major circuits on a BR Class 91 locomotive? (Sent: 03:43)
- A: AQA: Sorry, AQA can't find how many metres of wire are used on a BR Class 91 locomotive. On mainline railways there are 2,500 station & 21,000 miles of track. (Received 07:04)
Incidentally - Going on what's used in the APT - The answer is surprisingly easy, I believe...
- Length of wire in one OHLE AC transformer
- Length of wire in standard Brush AC traction motor (Multiply by four)
- Approximate the length of cabling used in control and communication feeds etc (Length of car times 5-25)
- For the 91: Add reasonable estimates for cabling used in the cabs at either end of the loco.

FYI: That doesn't mean one free question each day, if that's what ye thought it was. I also joined the AQA Club so I'd have an online place to collect answers (My handset isn't that reliable) and looked into the features - The "free text" that ye get when ye join the Club is a weeks delivery of popular answers on the subject selected...So if ye chose "Engineering" as your subject, ye'd receive the most popular engineering-related answer of the day for the next 5-7 days....And I joined the AQA club, u get one free text a day it's telling me.

Farewell...
