Am off to the model railway exhibition in Pontefract on Sunday and thought I might pay a visit to one or both of the above afterwards.

Any advice on visiting either of these locations would be appreciated.
I used to go to Knottingley years ago but need to know whether the depot is visible anymore and whats likely to be there on a weekend.

I know Midland Rd isn't accessible, so where would be the best viewing point to get locos on shed?

Me and my dad drive upto Midland Road very often (from Manchester).
There is a car park at the front of the depot wich can be pulled into and you are inly about 15ft from a loco then, with only a fence in the way.
around the rear you can see more loco's but numbers are impossible to get without Binoculars.

We went to Knottingly once and all we saw was 3 66's there was a good bridge around there tho
