After some lengthy and messy negotiations, it looks to be pretty much confirmed Austria will be getting an 'all right' coalition government. Looming dramatic cuts have been the main subject in those negotiations, and the Klimaticket was considered a prime target.
However, simply too many people have benefitted from the offer, certainly including many voters of the future government parties, so outright abolition was mooted but never very likely. Instead, it will be renamed from Klimaticket to Österreich-Ticket, which I'm sure is a massive efficiency saving. The free year for anyone turning 18 will also be eliminated, so that does at least save some hard cash.
