A colleague mentioned seeing something moving a kirow crane at Doncaster this morning around 09:30 but couldn't see the loco. Does anyone know what this move was and which loco was moving it please?

Thanks in advance!

Thank you for finding that, much appreciated. That's exactly what my colleague saw.

Where do you guys get that info from?

Loco information for some freight trains (like those hauled by GBRF for example, but not DB Cargo) is shown on Realtime trains if you can find the working.

I think Railcam (on the subscription option) has more info on which locos are working freight trains - https://railcam.uk/whatyouget.php

You can search for freight trains through Doncaster on the Detailed search option of Realtime trains by selecting the TOC as ZZ.
For example you can search for "all day" or in this case custom times 0800-1000 for 29th April - the 4 trains with times in bold actually ran, one was a track machine and two were light engines.

Apart from that, getting loco or wagon information generally relies on someone having access to TOPS - the best place to ask is in the two dedicated threads (the first post in each explains what they are for):

Non-urgent TOPS requests:
