Anyone know much about these new KIOSK branded shops/stalls popping up at stations (I've only seem them in East Anglia). Seem pretty modern and nice!

You see them everywhere in the Netherlands.

Yeah, it's a branding used on Dutch stations, I didn't realise NS ran them in house!

MToGo sounds like a great idea but it's actually a bit of a pain in practice. They'd be better with a WHS concession and a large bank of ticket machines, given the generally simple nature of most Merseyrail ticket purchases.

The conspiracy theory is that at high footfall stations (Chelmsford/Billericay/Southend Vic) a successful, long established, local business is outbid in a competitive tender process for the space by NS (the kiosk). NS are the parent of Abellio. Abellio run the bidding process.

Not sure how I feel about it. On the one hand it is nice to have these small independent businesses, but on the other hand these kiosk's look quite smart and seem well used, well at Chelmsford anyway.

Very common in NL, though I will admit I didn't know they were owned by NS. Coffee is decent, though more expensive than at the Albert Heijn, to which they are often adjacent at larger stations. €2 or zo at Kiosk, €1,50 at AH

You also get discounts on the coffee and snacks with certain types of special tickets (like the group buy tickets for example) I suppose the benefit of all being the same company.
