Kings X OSI

I was just looking through the Out of Station Interchange list, and noticed there are two between Kings Cross LU and Kings Cross LU.

Does anyone know how this works? Both seem to have different station ID's (600 and 625, and 625 and 772 respectively), so I was wondering if it was due to different gatelines?

600 is the Northern Line at Kings Cross St Pancras (possibly also Piccadilly)
625 is the Circle/Hammersmith & City/Metropolitan Line part of the station
772 is probably the Victoria Line area

Each gateline has a separate location code so these OSI entries should allow transfers between the different parts of the station whilst treating it as the same journey.

It’s 3 separate paid areas, and if you read further down the table, you also find 772 has two more LU/LU OSIs. They’ll be the original tube ticket hall, (deep tube Northern/Picc/Vic), the subsurface ticket hall, (Met/Circle/H&C), and the newer Northern ticket hall (also connects to the three deep tube lines, two by fairly roundabout routes).

Before the major changes in about 2009 there was no paid area link between the original two ticket halls in front of the two mainline stations, and when it was added I expect they left the OSI in place because there’d be people who’d follow the wrong signs and miss it, or they’d use street exits and entrances. The new Northern ticket hall then also connected to the original two by a long passageway outside the paid area, so that would need two separate OSIs anyway.

These OSIs facilitate step-free access between the various lines. Step-free access to the Sub-surface lines is only available from that ticket hall, the Northern line from the Tube ticket hall, and the Piccadilly and Victoria lines from the Northern ticket hall.
