Kings Norton Depot?

Hi Guys,
(apologies if this is in the wrong section....)

Whilst travelling from Birmingham to Cardiff this morning, i noticed a 1 road Depot just outside Kings Norton Station. I was wondering if anyone had more information on the depot...i.e. owners or last FOC/TOC that used the depot? I'm guessing that it was used as a light maintenance depot but would like some confirmation or information on it

It is constructed on part of the former car loading docks, and was originally used as the OHL depot for the Cross City Electrification. After that it was used by GTRM (later Carillion) as its OTM depot.

During the mid 2000s it was used by the WCRM OHL Alliance for the piling train when working in the Midlands area.

Although the sidings are still used as far as I know for stabling OTP, I believe that the depot is no longer used. If I am incorrect I am sure someone will say.

For the last couple of years the depot sodings have also been used for the operation of autumn Sandite trains. A storage compound was built on the site for this purpose served by road tanker as required.

The sidings still get use occasionally when there's pway renewal work in the locality.

It Certainly took me by surprise and would provide an ideal location to model especially with the crossover before Kings Norton station itself. Will be interesting to see if it gets use in the future
