King's Cross Train Stops

I notice that the train stop lights have been move back (i.e. North) by approximately 10m on some platforms (5/6 area from memory), meaning trains now stop c.20m from the buffers. Anyone know why this is and if it’s permanent?

1 through to 6 have been modified due to underground works

The notices say it's P1-4.

However, you are correct to say that it is in connection with LUL works. The reason is that they are excavating beneath the south end of these platforms and need to be able to accurately monitor ground movements above their working areas. Therefore, trains are being kept away from this area which means that the stop boards have been moved back from the buffer wall.

I believe the LU works actually expand quite a way and that it's variable for stopping on 1 through to 6.

You may be right.

However, Nitwit Rail's notices are saying that it's P1-4 and that the new stop boards are 37 metres from the buffer wall. There is no mention of any other working arrangements, but then I'm not privy to anything that GNER or FCC GN are briefing out to their drivers via the notice cases.

I believe the platform 5 through to 7 stopping marker changes is dependant on short term notices.
