I must admit, given the intention was always to have passengers exit through the front of the station, I‘d have been tempted to keep the ‘green roofed‘ building as an arrivals concourse.

Oh no... So you only get to see the 'nice' side of London when you leave. Many are glad it's gone. Plus starting this weekend, more 60s-70s era demolition, in my town! Finally!

Well, you can't accuse it of not being functional (rather more so than walking across the square in the rain to get to the tube !).

I always thought it curved rather nicely.

To be fair, compare the interior of a phase 1 CIG to anything built after 1994 and see how "cheap" BR rolling stock feels in comparison.

I was thinking more Pacer/Sprinter or even HST tbh, but fair points you do make.
