King's Cross and the three tunnels

I haven't been through Kings Cross in about 3 years now.

But I've been travelling through there and Hertfordshire, plus using the Overground that runs across King's Cross throat. You get a great view of the the three tunnels. Two used and one disused.

Should the third tunnel be reopened to create added operational flexiblity?

If so, what is the cost.

If not, why not?

Why and when has it been closed.

I'v often wondered this too. I'm interested if anyone has a reason for it.

Yeah I agree, I see it all the time and wonder why. But, with the FCC services possibly all going down on the Thameslink Corridor, I should imagine that it will stay closed as the throat will have more access anyway.
