quite graphic for the times, we need stuff like this to be showen again to get the message across to these chavs!

the only thing that works is shock tactics if there is slience in the room after its showen then it works!

Perhaps the new safety videos should speak their language:

"Don't like trespass like on like the like train like tracks like!"

time for a "what train wouldn`t you mind being hit by" thread, im joking and death isnt funny

they should also do a video of "why you shouldnt mouth off at people you dont know" for chavs, they can have the die a horrific and painful death, I dont mind making it  ill be the guy who beats the chav up

Do they not show Robbie in schools anymore? We were shown it in primary...

The question is: When will they update videos like this to make them ones that todays children can identify with? Although both The Finishing Line and Robbie bring home their very important point to a lot of us (Those who were children in the 70's and 80's) I have the feeling that a lot of modern children - Chavs especially - Wouldn't even figure out how the videos might apply to them because of the contrast in style between then and now. :?:

Personally though, I think the best safety video would be one showing a drunken Chav tresspasser being hit full on (In every Gory detail) by a 395 going at over 150mph. It would be most harrowing and it wouldn't be at all pretty...But I doubt even the "hardest" chav would consider trespassing on railway property after seeing such a detailed and hard-hitting video... <D

My idea for an advert would be slow-motion of how shocked a driver is if they hit someone, and then a train with a gravestone mounted on the front. Then a voice says 'Trespassing is death. Don't do it.'

That's not a bad one...But thinking of things mounted to the front of trains, wouldn't a rail with a row of razor-sharp Blades (Like the front rail on a WH40K Rhino) be a better option? 8)

Not exactly great for the appearance, I know...But it'd certainly teach trespassers and the careless a lesson that they'd never forget... <D

How about a film showing the distinct lack of damage caused to the train, but then show all the remaining parts spread liberaly underneath the train that some poor sod has to wash out & bag up? Trains are unforgiving things. I was shocked by the comparative lack of damaged caused to a 321 that hit 6 cows.

Unfortunately, there will always be the few idiots who think it's big and clever to pratt about near railways. They screw everybody elses lives up who have to (literally) pick up the pieces after them. But on here, we are talking to the converted. Maybe organised trips to Depots for schools, to get youngsters up close and personal with train in a safe environment. Take a bit of the mystery out of them? Also, let a couple catch their shoulders on a coupler, and feel how unyielding they are.

It has also come to something that we now have adverts for Samaritans on the end of platforms, but thats a different matter. Rant over.

If there was organised trips to depots for schools I would be drooling and bringing my camera, I would be too interested in the trains rather than what the person has to say about trespassing.
