Kiev - Lviv - Krakow

Hi guys,

Planning a summer holiday with my partner, and we're flying to Kiev, flying back from Krakow, and also will spend a few days in Lviv. I think I understand the trains in Ukraine, but information seems limited. The trains we're planning to get are:

Kiev - Lviv

Lviv - Krakow (by day train and changing preferably, night train if that's not available)

I've been told that I can buy the Kiev - Lviv ticket online, and show the ticket by phone, so that sounds good to me. I don't think it's possible to buy a ticket into poland from the Ukrainian railways, but it might be possible to do so by Polrail? Can anyone confirm/deny this?

We were probably going to travel first class in Ukraine as it seems to be so ridiculously cheap (£11 for a 6 hour journey). Is the first class travel in Poland worth the extra £10?

I'm just looking for any more information about buying tickets, and general knowledge when travelling in Ukraine. I'd quite like to have everything booked before I leave the UK if preferable, although we don't leave until 9th June, so there's no rush at all.

Awesome, that's a good sign. You can just buy them online and get them sent to you?

It was a case of requesting online, a quotation was then prepared and made ready for me to accept online. All the usual credit card options were available.

Tickets could then be collected in Poland (not much use for your journey or mine) with further options to have the tickets posted or sent via UPS.
There is a postage calculator you can use to estimate the cost to your home address on their webpage.
