Facebook post ("Signalboxes and Signalling" group) yesterday evening showed the post, ladder and arm on the back of a lorry, arriving at Butterley. Apparently pulled out of the ground (thankfully not sawn off) with the bottom end timber looking remarkably sound.
That is very good news! Thanks for the information!

. . .I do remember a Train Conductor on one of the Class 170 Birmingham – Stansted Airport Services I used to use regularly mentioned there was a scheme mooted to resignal the line "within 5 years" using Ansaldo equipment but the contract apparently fell through !

. . .(I've not been routed that way to visit my sisters' for about 2 years now – the best price tickets I've been offered have all been routed via London!)

I first looked at resignalling that line in 1995, and I‘m sure wasn’t the first to back then. IIRC there was space in the old Leicester signalling centre for the line to be controlled from there.

Would it go to Derby or York ROC now given that both Peterborough and Leicester PSBs no longer survive?

Derby at a guess
Based on current NR route boundaries, that makes sense. That, and the reliance on Syston to Manton for MML diversions. However, is there room for it in the EMCC? I was led to believe that the most recent resignalling proposal (10-15 years ago), it was first envisaged that it'd be split between the existing Kettering and Leicester workstations, but that the workload (including at least a couple of the crossings that wouldn't be suitable for MCB-OD, plus some busy UWCs) meant that it'd actually need at least one and possibly two workstations of its own. I can't remember whether that was an issue because of a lack of space, or just an economic argument knocking the business case down, or indeed a not really an issue at all. Splitting the two ex-Leicester workstations into three might have changed that again, of course.

It would likely be Derby, as it is part of the East Midlands Route structure. However, there's still no suggestion of re-control of that line at the moment, that management want to say about.

York is more or less full, apparently - reportedly one of the reasons that Doncaster PSB hasn't yet moved there.

On the bright side, at least the signal from Ketton is getting a new lease of life.
