While we don't know the exact stations involved it is worth reminding everyone that Train Company pricing managers do read this forum. Mentioning good value fares or routeing anomalies, however inadvertently, will often result in them being 'fixed' and this won't normally in favour of passengers.

Ok, so looking at the fares data from 7 Nov 2023, the SDS was £19.70:

But on 8 Nov, the SDS and FDS had increased by £2.20 and £3.70 respectively:

I'm surprised the SDR/SVR/CDR weren't also priced up at the same time. Perhaps one or more of these are regulated fares? I don't have time to dig through the DfT's FOI from yonks ago at the moment, though.
