Kenilworth station signage

Thought I'd start a quick discussion about Kenilworth's semi-new station. I saw this image (attached) of the stations signage, and it looks quite Network Rail-esc even though the station is managed by West Midlands Trains. Any guesses as to why?

Is that because it's actually in Warwickshire and not in the West Midlands PTE area?

As the trains are operated by West Midlands Railway like most in the West Midlands region, I would've expected the signage at the station to follow the design of signage at other WMR stations (attached example)

Probably not, every other station in Warwickshire that's WMR managed and not in the Transport for West Midlands area have all the WMR branded signage.

It's possible it's been built like this because it was being built towards the end of the London Midland franchise, and WMR haven't bothered to brand it up yet?

I seem to remember reading that it was to do with it being due to open around the time the franchise changed hands (although opening was subsequently delayed). Little point in it being done up in London Midland signage, and I'm not sure the WMR brand was finalised at that stage.

That does make sense. They could've changed the signage since the photo I initially attached was taken.

Looks like the signage has changed to the normal WMR style since your image. Which backs up the theory of the franchise was changing.

Yes, you are correct.
