Some good news for Starmer today, with Savanta ComRes giving him a new highest rating in who'd be best PM of 39%, 8 points ahead of Johnson, despite the latter also gaining:

He still has a way to go and needs to hold this lead, but to get ahead of Johnson is a key step, which exceeds ratings during the debacle of the second covid wave and free school meals, which gave Labour as a whole poll leads, but not Starmer over Johnson.
