Kaunas, Lithuania - workings worth seeing

Hi all,

I booked an impulsive weekend away to Lithuania over the bank holiday. Flight times worked well and I had never heard of it before, so why not...

It is mostly a sight seeing trip, but we are staying near the station so should find some time to wander down.

I have found some online timetables, but I was just wondering if anyone knew of any workings that have loco haulage or some of the older 1970s multiple units.

Head for the capital at Vilnius, we saw lots of double headed Lithuanian and Belurusian locos coming and going, and the sheds was full too

I really enjoyed getting a slow train from Vilnius to Kaunas. You saw a lot of the countryside, and some of the stations were just like platforms next to a few wooden shacks.
