Katie Hopkins made the TV return that few were eagerly anticipating earlier today, appearing on the This Morning sofa for the first time since she stirred the pot by linking children’s names to their social status.

Host Phillip Schofield warned viewers of the ITV show to get ‘YouTube at the ready’ as Hopkins was invited to ponder whether it is right to miss children's birthdays for work.

She also said that she "absolutely stand by everything" she uttered in her previous appearance in July, adding that she finds it "quite fun that people shout out loud down the street".

Insisting that her remarks found plenty of support in some quarters, she then attempted to draw Holly Willoughby in by saying: "Then there's the Holly school of thought that's not so pro…"

Holly, who last time lost her cool with the 38-year-old former Apprentice contestant, replied: "Not really, but I said my piece on that last time."

Why on earth do certain people within the TV and media industries insist on pushing brainless idiots with absolutely nothing to contribute into the 'spotlight'? Is it simply because they are cheap and fill a 10 minute segment for a bargain price?!
