Hey guys,

Just wondering if there is any free train sims (apart from BVE)?

BVE is good and all, but sometimes it can just boring after a while.

BVE? hock: Boring? With the almost infinite choice of traction and journeys, I certainly wouldn't call it boring!

I guess there is http://www.rail3d.net There are a few other free simulators but a lot of them are quite old now and don't have much of a community behind them. There's certainly nothing out there for free download that is anywhere near as realistic as BVE (in my opinion).

The reason I like BVE is, as you've said, Damon, because of the realism of it. There's tons of trains, modelled accurately with prototypical safety systems, etc, whereas other sims may give outside views, say, but no physics. It's really down to personal opinion which of them is best. I prefer realism, which is why I like BVE. For perhaps a more interesting journey, you'd have to probably buy MSTS or the like.

well said that man? there are loads of trains and routes out there, if you have the route randomiser then there are hundreds of different scinarios, and hours of driving, msts is good but is not 100 per cent realistic but bve is in the most part.

Anyway, if you are bored of BVE, perhaps digressing into car sims may be in order?

I have tried that game before but uninstall it, as it does not my graphics card obviously.

Fred will get bored of 455s when the 455s does not have a route.

I will wait for KRS.

Exact same thing happened to me, tried it again 2 releases later and hey presto! It now likes my gfx!
