Morning Lucky,

Yes, it's based at Workington.

Super stuff.
I know a chap who works as a supervisor up there.

I also know that Workington Conductors earn the most commission at Northern, by quite some way!

Hi Haigwright,

Congratulations on getting a start :D

I too have received my contract and start on 19th September in Manchester, I'll be working out of the Workington station. Have you had any information about accommodation in your induction pack? I have nothing included (it says map enclosed also but no map is present). Perhaps we'll get more information after sending back the contracts?

Regards

Congratulations to you both :D

I got my contract / induction pack through on Wednesday. I'm due to start training in Leeds a week today.

I filled in the forms & sent everything back the next day, paying for special delivery, just to make sure they got them before the bank holiday. The letter stated that they should be returned by the 29th August, & i didn't want them getting lost in the post.
Included in the pack were the main contract & appendix, annex information in relation to the contract, bank details form, P46, Northern travel forms, & Transec form. There was nothing about accommodation, uniform etc

Looking at the start time, travelling from Middlesbrough, i'd have to probably have to get the 06:31 to Leeds to give me time to get to the training place & to factor in any delays, so i've asked about the possibility of overnight accommodation. The question was going to be asked, but I haven't heard anything back yet.

Thanks for your reply, Graz

I'm hoping something will be arranged after the contract is sent back, perhaps they wait until you're actually fully sign up before booking you a room.

I should think you would get accommodation if you're based out of Workington

Hi,
I emailed HR with a couple of questions, accommodation being one of them and they said accommodation details will be sent before the start date. I'm assuming once they have the signed contract and other assorted forms back they will get something booked.

Hi Haigwright,

I've received an email from HR with details of accommodation for the first 5 weeks of training. It's at the Mercure Manchester Picadilly hotel (3 minutes walk fro the training).
