Just apply for anything to get yourself in the railway mate .. I’m 16 years in the railway and just got a drivers job ... get yourself in the door and it does give a good advantage mateNot surprised if that's the case, been waiting since April, applied for London Depot (Acton) not heard anything at all since applying........pretty much given up.
Evening pal, I'm already in the Railway industry lol.Just apply for anything to get yourself in the railway mate .. I’m 16 years in the railway and just got a drivers job ... get yourself in the door and it does give a good advantage mate
It's not about getting in the Railway just to be a driver, its about applying for a job that clearly has an issue with the recruitment process, as some are waiting longer than others for any kind of contact and some no contact was so ever.Just apply for anything to get yourself in the railway mate .. Problem is we all know rail recruitment is a lengthy process but that's with contact mostly every 4-6 weeks, but when it comes to driver recruitment majority will be advertised as multiple depots? And only a handful will be contact and the other depots will just be left with no communication regarding application ? No one ever actually knows or can't get any information from HR/Recruitment nothing, then the roumers start flying around about Depot's not needing any drivers or there were no positions at that Depot in the first place or Depot drivers have been given priority ect.
You just start thinking why did they advertise for those depots in the first place ?
After all the patient waiting with no feedback or returned calls or emails simple solution is to give up and move on.
I doubt you'll hear back until they replace the contract they've just lost. Acton covered majority of that contractNot surprised if that's the case, been waiting since April, applied for London Depot (Acton) not heard anything at all since applying........pretty much given up.
Yeah that's a good shout, but the problem is no one is getting back to us (email, calls etc) to let us know where we actually stand, so can't offer relocation if no one to talk to.I know once getting I got past the test stage .. can be easier to get a job .. I phoned gbrf and they offered me a job over the phone which at the time I regretted not taking .. I was asking for Carlisle area and they offered me over the phone a start date of 7th of September at Southampton .. but it was only 3 weeks notice to start .. but now I’m glad I hung off .. I got a lot of mates that just applied everywhere round the country for drivers jobs .. 2 that moved 300 miles for one.. I don’t know if that’s a option for you but I’d certainly try if you are flexible .
I assumed that, problem is they can't be bothered to tell us who are still waiting that lol.I doubt you'll hear back until they replace the contract they've just lost. Acton covered majority of that contract

They shouldn’t really ask you any technical questions regarding signals.Hi,
I applied for a Junior/Trainee Driver Role at the beginning of September ‘19, completed and passed the Assessment inc. MMI at the beginning of October. I’m penciled in to have my DMI this week. I’ve done some research on what questions to expect online and on here. Just wondered if anyone had been for it recently and remembered any specific questions that DB may ask. I’ve read people were asked about signals, routes etc by other companies and didn’t know if it would be a waste of my time looking into this.
Sorry to hear this. Was this your first attempt?Had my assessment for the Peterlee position today. All was going really well, but unfortunately failed at the joysticks stage...took too long apparently. Bit gutted as on the practice papers it said there was no time limit...
Needless to say it was a long drive home...
Sorry to hear this. Was this your first attempt?
There’s no time limit as such (in that if you don’t complete it within a set time it’s over and you’re made to stop, which is the case for the pencil/paper tests), but the time you take will be taken in to account when scoring candidates (it’ll a be done automatically and there’s several factors which will more than likely be taken in to account).
Yeah that was my first attempt, of all.the things to fail on, gutted it was that!
