I hadn't realised that-thanks for pointing it out. However, the weekday 1932 and 2032 have both ceased to exist. There is no 1932 on Saturdays currently, it's weekdays only (Mon-Fri).

Back when the 1930 Norwich to Liverpool Street was a 12 car 321, in pre covid times, i travelled on it and there was about 1 passenger per coach, so it would seem those evening GEML trains from Norwich were quite lightly loaded and as such quite a reasonable cutback in times of tight budget stringsI hadn't realised that-thanks for pointing it out. However, the weekday 1932 and 2032 have both ceased to exist.
Looking at going to Norwich in a couple of weeks and discovered that the 1930 up has disappeared in the new timetable! Is it really that empty on a summer Saturday that they can go hourly in the evening?

Thanks for the detailed insight-used to avoid it like the plague when it was 12/321!It never ran on Saturdays.

They were never really supposed to be there in the first place. The 19:32 only existed because the 17:02 down (12-car 321s) had no available time to terminate & spin at Stowmarket. No idea why the 20:30 (even well less patronised) needed to run.

In Intercity/Anglia days last trains up road where 18:05, 19:05 & 20:40. In time that became 18:05, 19:05, 20:05 & 21:05. Even without those two needless trains introduced many years later it’ll still be 18:00: 18:32, 19:00, 20:00, 21:02 & 22:02.

I suspect someone spotted they don't have the requirement to get stock back south anymore (I assume the 321s were maintained at Ilford or somewhere, now they're all in Norwich they only need enough down there to start the service the following morning.Haha, didn’t everyone except it seems those who bagged a bargain basement fare and then had the cheek to whinge about the stock provided & lack of catering provision on Twitter![]()

To free up capacity for longer distance passengers. There are two complementary 387-operated Paddington to Bristol Parkway stopping services which make the omitted intermediate calls.Hi all
Looking at the GWR timetable from June onwards, it looks like there are 2 services running non stop from Paddington to Bristol Parkway. These are both Carmarthen services. I seem to remember there were Paddington to Bristol Parkway non stops before Covid, but that these were withdrawn and never reinstated due to the paths being reallocated elsewhere (Elizabeth Line?).
The times are 1618 & 1918 from Paddington.
I don’t see any in the opposite direction though. Just interested if anyone knows any more about these services?
thanks in advance
Is there no need for non stop Bristol to Paddington (the other direction)? To free up capacity for longer distance passengers. There are two complementary 387-operated Paddington to Bristol Parkway stopping services which make the omitted intermediate calls.
There's one Reading-only from Parkway. Is there no need for non stop Bristol to Paddington (the other direction)?
21:00 and 22:00 Liverpool Street to Norwich and Ipswich respectively now both run to Ipswich and no further and covered by Class 720s, as per the current Saturday plan.I hadn't realised that-thanks for pointing it out. However, the weekday 1932 and 2032 have both ceased to exist.

There's a Swindon-only - the 0800, unchanged to previosu timetable...What service is that?
Oops - I've forgotten how to read a timetable. Swindon. What service is that?
It is reported that the Harrogate Line will have more class 170 units on services after the timetable change, however I don’t see any pathing changes on RTT. Is this missing on RTTs end or will it just be less sprinters filling in for 170s?

Isn't that common anyway?Likely one of Brighton to Seaford curcuit will be booked for 4-car.
Thanks! So basically they’ve swapped one of the peak time sprinter units to be turbostar operated. Should be a nicer passenger experience. Also, how did you find this out?The following journeys will now be 170 operated (previously Sprinters):
06:33 Harrogate to Leeds
07:15 Leeds to Harrogate
08:05 Harrogate to Leeds
17:39 Leeds to Knaresborough
18:31 Knaresborough to Harrogate (NIS)
Leaving just the following journeys to be operated by 2xSprinters
06:24 Leeds to Harrogate
07:14 Harrogate to Leeds
07:55 Leeds to Knaresborough (NIS)
09:04 Knaresborough to Leeds
17:09 Leeds to Harrogate
18:06 Harrogate to Leeds
Essentially yes, although previously the first board ran onto the 17:09 and the second ran onto the 17:39.Thanks! So basically they’ve swapped one of the peak time sprinter units to be turbostar operated. Should be a nicer passenger experience. Also, how did you find this out?

Northern said:There will be extra capacity on services from Leeds to Harrogate and York
Extra standing capacity? All the reporting seems to be a bit wonky. Northern themselves are saying:
Which is rather problematic when you consider the diagrams in question don't even go to York, and the change to the listed diagrams is 2x 150s being replaced by 1x 3 car 170...
Standing capacity is pretty much the only thing class 150s have going for them. I guess it could be a better passenger experience, the 170s are so much nicer to ride in than the class 150s.Extra standing capacity?
