Jubilee Line traction motors

Is it my imagination or are some of the jubilee line traction motors louder than on other sets? I've also sensed that the motors on the middle carriages seem to be louder than those under the driving vehicles.

I suspect the bearings on the wheels might be loose. If your that regular commuter that rides the jubilee line a lot regularly, when the shortage of trains delays have been occurring quite a bit since 2020 pre covid, there has been a programme going on for sometime refurbishing the entire 96 stocks wheels & motors. the noisier the motors are that you hear are louder then the other ones, it’s original non refurbished. I was hoping they’re replacing the entire gec motors for some ac that are being fitted to the central line, all though the orginal gec fitted in 96 are ac & are more frequently reliable compared to the entire dc motors getting replaced on the 92 fleet.

I would miss that sound too much if the gec motors were replaced.

I know it’s the nostalgia that can’t be replaced like most of the class 465/466 that are getting withdrawn slowly. I think the gec alstom traction can handle another 10 years if possible.

most likely to be dependant on which coach you're sitting in as some do not have motors underneath
