Several months ago, I booked to see a show at The Bridge Theatre London (a short walk from London Bridge station) on Easter Monday (6 April). It is expected to finish around 22:10 and we need to get home to Nuneaton.
Normally, we would drive to Rugby and do a round-trip from there. Then they announced that the West Coast Mainline would be closed between Euston and Milton Keynes.
When this happens, plan B is to drive to Warwick Parkway instead. The last train back from Marylebone is at 23:07 which should have been fine. The Jubilee Line from London Bridge to Baker Street then walk to Marylebone is easily doable in that time.
But although I could find no announcement on TFL's website that the Jubilee Line is closed, journey planners are offering no services. What is going on with the Jubilee Line?
The Northern Line at London Bridge is also closed, so the only option is Thameslink to Farringdon then tube to Baker Street, but that is taking too long, particularly as theatre running times are only approximate.
It's crazy that on one of the busiest tourist weekends in our capital city, public transport is absent.
We have the option of going from Leicester, but three days of parking close to Leicester station is going to be expensive, and the train doesn't arrive until 01:27 so bed wouldn't be until 02:30 when we have to be up for work, so far from ideal.
