I think it has improved slightly from a few months ago.
I had a smooth journey from Birmingham to London last Friday, and return on Saturday.
But if you look at

you can see that they are still having issues with trains being cancelled due to staff shortages.
The best thing to do would be to access the live train status page early on Monday to see if your train is still running.

Of the 72 Avanti services that have been planned to run so far this working week from Euston to Liverpool:
4 have been cancelled (3 due to crew, 1 due to Vandalism)
2 have been more than 30 minutes late
4 have been between 10 and 30 minutes late (2 of those this morning)
62 have been early, on time or up to 10 minutes late.
