Can someone confirm for me?

Can you break a jorunet on the outbound leg of a Off Peak Day Return ticket?

Or do I need to buy the more expensive version?

Yes you can. I am not aware of any Off Peak Day Return (CDR) where this is not permitted. Sadly since "simplification" it is not as simple as it used to be.

It does depend on which flow you are talking about.

A London Midland Only CDR from Birmingham Stations to London Terminals permits no break of journey on either portion.

Yeah, I sold a BHM-MKC London Midland Only CDR today, and was interested to note it didn't allow BoJ in either direction.

Although LM say you can ignore that restriction!

Before simplification only Savers prevented BOJ. Now they are saying any off peak type can (potentially). This is less simple and an erosion of rights. ATOC should not be allowed to act as a regulator.
