What do you mean reporting? It was an eight-word tweet - not an article in a newspaper or on a website. ..

She is a journalist. She tweets as a journalist. So, she is behoven to reporting, even via an eight-word tweet, fairly and accurately. If she can't get it into eight words, don't tweet.

She was not seeing anything abnormal, as anyone who actually uses this station will tell you. I use it on occasion and at any time of the day, week, month or year, that section of the car park is almost entirely devoid of parked vehicles, except for a handful left in the spaces closest to the station building - just as her photo shows.
You are exactly the kind of person she should be asking then! But unless she can say, as you can, "this is typical" she should clarify her report by some sort of conditional comment like: "I don't know if it's like this all day" - otherwise she is inviting folk to believe it is like that all day.
Anyway, from her record, the lady concerned appears more interested in grabbing headlines and getting hits on her blog or whatever than fair and accurate reporting. Such is much of modern journalism - if it can be called that.

Really? I didn't realise that tweeting about having had laser eye surgery constitutes journalism, or indeed many of the other things on her Twitter feed, like it snowing in the place she lives for the first time she moved there - I must have missed the front-page headlines about that. Journalists are entitled to have and express opinions, just like anyone else.

It's a tweet, not a 'report'.

I suspect she didn't bother saying 'this is typical' because she will have seen it looking like that every time she uses that station, just the same as everyone else does.

Most passengers at Parkway probably mutter to themselves under their breath about the waste of spaces - I know I did one morning when running through driving rain to get to the station building and crossing the empty prairie that is the disabled parking area, followed up by further muttering about the lack of shelter on either platform at the station - Ms Oakeshott decided to go off on one on Twitter.

She was probably hacked off at the time about finding the station car park full up after having to drive to Oxford Parkway to be reasonably sure of getting a train most of the way home, instead of just walking down the road to Charlbury station, because GWR's recent problems finding crew for Cotswold Line services have made things on that route a lottery for the past couple of months and angered a lot of people who depend on it - while doing wonders for Chiltern's income at Oxford Parkway as a result.

Well she certainly seems to have got your attention...
