Already contributed but you would have thought that the railway community would have sorted matters at the time of his death. Good to see something done about it at long last.

Yes I've made a small donation. Surprised myself too that the railway community, officially or unofficially, hadn't done something well prior to this, but maybe they just weren't aware, or if they were it was a long time ago and been subsequently forgotten about. At least something's happening now anyway.

Likewise for Moses Clements, driver of City of Truro on its famous occasion in 1904, who I believe came from Exeter. Bit of continuity there - the inaugural run with the new GWR Ocean Saloons in 1935 from Plymouth to Paddington was driven by the man who had been City of Truro's fireman. If I'm not mistaken Clements' great-grandson unveiled the artwork wrap on the HST power car a couple of years ago that showed all the generations of high speed GW trains over time.

Correct me I'm wrong, but is it true that Joe Duddington's son was a well-known double bass player in the '50/'70's called Alan Duddington? The fact that the name Delaney is mentioned in the newsclip may also have some bearing as well.
