Could someone please give me a list of all TOCs and FOCs that operate in Scotland, I live 30 miles from Edinburgh and 20 miles from Glasgow also is it advisable to email or write a letter to these companies along with a CV or is it better just check their websites daily for any career opportunites?

If this is for Career opportunities then this should be moved by a mod (if possible) to the Careers section of the forums.
The TOC's in Scotland are:
Cross Country
East Coast
Virgin Trains
Transpennine Express
Scotrail
FOC's in Scotland:
Direct Rail Services
GBRf
Freightliner
DB Shenker (Formerly EW&S (EWS))
Colas Rail Freight
I may have missed one or two.
What are you wanting to do and that will then help people guide you better.

Stu, lots of jobs out at the moment you could apply for with First Scotrail. Once in post you can apply for internal vacancies which come out every Wednesday so long as you're 6 months in post (and past probation obviously).
