You probably want to go with either the Metro or Northern, as they are the main two in Newcastle. East Coast don't seem to be taking anyone on at the minute, but are asking for qualified drivers to email them.

Probably best to keep checking here:

Nexus Tyne and Wear Metro

and

Northern Rail

Apart from this, what kind of qualifications do/will you have, and do you have any job experience at the moment?

Keep a regular check on your local TOCs websites. Check about once a week and apply for everything.

Good luck!!

Your starting point needs to be what sort of work you want to do, and are best suited to eg customer service, engineering, etc.

Once you've worked that out, you've more chance of getting something suitable. Putting in for any job, just because "you like trains" will get you nowhere. A lot of entry level jobs, eg on board crew, have very little to do with things railway.
