I'd imagine it will be used on a variety of duties, I doubt a small company like JMB would spend that kind of money on a vehicle for a single use.
Probably it will but maybe there going to start a new route for it

Well done JMB
Looks very nice. Great to see JMB investing in their fleet still and I hope that franchising doesn't wipe them out as they are putting in so much work into the network to grow patronage.

A vehicle of that size should be dual door, but I’ll let my hobby horse rest there
Why there is no dual door deckers in in the west of Scotland in regular service use with both doors in use.

Non of the bus stations can accommodate dual door usage and few bud stops can either

Both First's and JMBs services frequencies are pure overkill, 243 makes it's money in North Motherwell mostly, picks up Concessions the rest of the route, Not totally unviable quite yet still picks up some loads, Night time journeys are busier

I see JMB are starting a 229 Hamilton to Eddlewood. Times are on traveline but no mention of it anywhere from JMB so far. Seems it's just morning and evening peak journeys which seems a bit pointless

JMB have a MCV bodied Volvo BZL electric demonstrator, BV72KPF, which joined the fleet last week. It is tracking as MXZ1751.

Are JMB starting the 229? Not advertised anywhere so what's the script with it?
They have posted the following on Facebook:-

From Monday 18th May 2026, we will be introducing new Monday to Friday peak time only Service 229. The route will provide new direct links from Eddlewood to Strathaven Road and Low Waters Road as well as serving the Town Centre.
