Coming back from BHX I went to Solihull station and spotted Jed to Ned baling out of the early evening Mainlne Class 67 service from Marylebone.

Just a bit greyer around the beard, but no entourage that I could see.

The RAF greatcoat now replaced by something black.

Not sure that 'ned' is the right word. As far as haulage bashing goes he's THE top man.

Oldish guy, fairly big, going a bit thin on top and a giant beard? If its the guy I am thinking of then he is always travelling on the 67s, usually between Dorridge and Birmingham, but he does venture out to Leamington (and I assume London) from time to time. He has asked me about locos and unit swaps a couple of times. What is his story then? All I know is that apparently he has a few quid in the bank. If it's the same guy, obviously.

Yep, it is. I have known him (from a distance) since the early 1980s.

Comes from a good background has a stash of family money and certainly used to travel far and wide from Birmingham as far as I knew.

Mate of Whizzer's !
