Yes, I was in Japan last year and found a stock book for JR locomotives (2011-12) - the ISBN is 978-4-86320-493-5.

It's a neat little book with depot allocations and class-by-class listings of diesel, electric and steam locos, with photographs.

Useful for identifying classes, but the whole book is in Japanese!

cheers,

Keith

My knowledge of Japanese is zilch but this sounds an interesting book.
I have tried various searches using the ISBN number but with no joy .

Thanks you for all your help.
I tried to order from Amazon Japan but it would not accept my e-mail/password although I have no difficulty ordering from .com or .fr.
I contacted Amazon and they tried it and confirmed I would probably have to open another account for .jp.
I will leave it for now and keep an eye out to see if I find it elsewhere.
At least now with your help I know what I am looking for.
