James May, Reassembler, what should he rebuild next?

I've just been watching James May Reassembler on BBC4, the model train, Kenwood mixer etc.
What would you like to see him reassemble next?

I'd like to see him Reassemble:

An old one arm bandit slot machine. (Such as a Jennings)
A coal fired Live steam locomotive.
An old Video recorder such as a Grundig 2000 or Ferguson video star.

Any more ideas?

I'd like to see him rebuild either a Reliant Robin, or one of the many British Leyland cars that he and his comrades destroyed on "Top Gear".

A 1970s Hoover Senior/Ranger vacuum cleaner.

As a 10 year old I took my Mum's old one apart and couldn't put it back together again!

A Wutlitzer cinema organ, definitely. A nice big one with 'thousands' of stops and 'millions' of pipes to make it a proper challenge.

Perhaps a bit ambitious for a 30 minute slot, but I'd like to see him put together an aircraft, perhaps a microlight would be appropriate. There was a series years ago on Men and Motors about a guy who assembled and flew his own Europa kit plane which worked well so perhaps May could do a (very condensed) version of this.

As an aside I thought the first series of the Reassembler was a bit of a missed opportunity. 30 minutes is too short a slot for this kind of programme in my opinion, but sadly typical of how TV producers nowadays seem to assume their audience has the attention span of a goldfish.

I'd much rather an hour long programme, covering the subject in a bit more detail.

I watched the first two series many years ago, when there happened to be a Sky subscription in the house. (These days they can probably be found without having to pay for the Discovery Channel etc.) They were a really good introduction into the nuts and bolts of how a vehicle works, even if was a decade beore I put any of that knowledge into good use.

Although I reckon one circuit board looks like any other. I’m not sure shows like Reassembler are suited to modern tech.

I think you're right. The programs also tend to dip into the historical importance of the various items that he's reassembled, and whilst that could feasibly work for some early mobiles (both from the historical and the ease of reassembly aspects) I'm not sure you could fill one of those sections with "why the iPhone 5s changed the world".
